Evoke Coaching (London) - Difference between Life Coaching and Therapy


In general Life Coaching focuses on the present and help you to visualise, plan & achieve you heart felt goals & desires.

Therapy on the other hand is characterised as past-focused, as is designed to address unresolved troubling issues. However there is some crossover between Life coaching & Therapy.

Sometimes some short term counselling is required during the Life Coaching sessions to address an unresolved issue that maybe having an influence on your beliefs, in turn having a negative impact on goal achievement etc.  If a more long term therapy is required you maybe referred to one of our associated psychotherapists.

Coaching however is more focused on results & action than traditional therapies, so for Coaching to be successful, you have to be willing to participate fully in the process
